Plant Manager

Position Overview

The Plant Manager will play a leadership role in developing production plans, building the production team, and producing the consistently highest quality products for the lowest production cost.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee business operations, plant operations, purchasing, personnel management,
    and any and all other items relating to plant operations.
  • Timely reporting of financial information and operational information.
  • Maintain positive company image and relationship in city, community, county, state.
  • Responsible for performance management of all assigned employees. This may include:
    performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, career development, succession planning and disciplinary action.
  • Supervises professional, technical and support staff on a day-to-day basis, including
    determining workloads and schedules, implementing and interpreting policies and procedures,
    evaluating and training staff, approving and making hiring and employment recommendations.
  • Support the development and implementation of a multi-year strategy aimed at improving
    quality and reducing production costs.
  • Collaboration with key functions (e.g., Operations, Finance, Quality Improvement, etc.).
  • Development of annual operating budgets and production goals.

Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in veg-oil extraction industry.
  • Demonstrated abilities to nurture and maintain external relationships
    with producers and brokers.
  • A minimum of 1 year department-level managerial experience.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and costs.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based workplace

Other Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to utilize enterprise-level and PC based technology and databases
  • Problem Identification and Solving Skills and Experience.
  • Quality Management and Improvement Experience is desired
  • Corporate, community and natural resource stewardship focus is desired.
